Neil Cammack (1921-2006)
After the War, Earl's Colne Airfield was used to store ships anchors and other marine equipment. Located a few miles away in Colne Engaine, the newly formed N.C. Cammack and Son provided the vehicles needed to transport the anchors and peripheral equipment to and from the docks.
By the time that the business moved to White Colne in 1985, the Company was operating sixteen trucks from its original yard in Colne Engaine. In order to maintain their expanding fleet, the company set up their own vehicle maintenance facility, which still forms an important part of the business today.
Neil Cammack and his wife Marjorie had four children, two of whom, Mark and James, now run the company. They joined N.C. Cammak and Son in the mid 1970's and helped grow the family business into the transport and distribution company it is today.
A dedicated Freemason, Neil Cammack was the 'Tyler' at Sudbury Lodge for twenty years as well as being a former Master of the Wisdom Lodge in Ipswich. Had he lived another few weeks, Neil Cammack was to have been honoured with an appointment to the Provincial Grand Lodge of Suffolk.
